Local Restaurant Receives Certification as a B.C Culinary Tourism Destination
Markus' Wharfside Restaurant was recently certified by the Culinary Tourism Society of B.C as a culinary destination. Only a few establishments on the island currently have this certification. The establishments were evaluated based on ten criteria of those being: the use of B.C product, service/hospitality, value, uniqueness, quality, integrity, informative experience, enviro sustainability, local favourite and cultural/authenticity. Those who scored a mark over 70% in these categories were awarded the designation and are profiled on the society's website www.bcculinarytourism.com.
Each restaurant and culinary experience profiled on this website has met the exemplary hospitality and culinary standards established by the Culinary Tourism Society BC.
Each establishment was certified only after a thorough onsite evaluation by a designated CTSBC representative. Since certified establishments are only nominated by industry peers or customers, you have our guarantee that each experience has been certified on merit alone.
